Nippon Professional Baseball All-Star Series

It is time of the all-stars series of Japan now.

The Nippon Professional Baseball All-Star Game is an annual baseball game between players from the Central League and the Pacific League, currently selected by a combination of fans, players, coaches, and managers. The All-Star Game usually occurs in early to mid-July and marks the symbolic halfway point in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) season (though not the mathematical halfway point; in most seasons, that actually takes place one week earlier).

 The special glove which players use is announced by each maker.

I found the glove which Otani of Nippon-Ham Fighters used.

Japanese baseball game in CHIBA!!

HELLO!!

On Wednesday,
I went to watch "Chiba Lotte Marines" home game!!


It was allowed to see exercise time because I was invited as a guest.:)




A player is gentle, and say hello carefully even if　they look after us.


I spent happy time taking the photo together!!


I caught sight only of a glove and the bat which a player used and have preferred the photograph of the tool to the exercise photograph of the player. . . .


Then Japanese professional baseball players really use what kind of glove and bat;

Tokyo Yakult Swallows

Tokyo Yakult Swallows is one of the Japanese Professional baseball team in the Central League.

Their home stadium is the Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo. (Seating Capacity: about 35000)

This stadium is also known as the place for the game of Tokyo Big6 Baseball League which is the most popular college baseball league in Japan.

The Swallows had been placed at the lowest rank in past 2 years, but won the pennant race for the first time in 14 years last year. 

Some wonderful players made it happen!

Tetsuto Yamada was a leading player of the year. He achieved “Triple Three”, a .329 batting average, 38 homers, and 34 Stolen Bases. 

He also got the HR leader, Stolen Base leader and MVP in the Central League. 

We were excited when he hit 3 homers in the third game of Japan series (national championship games).

His uniform number will be changed from “23” to “1” which used to be the number of Norichika Aoki (Seattle Mariners) and other Swallows’ star players.
It means everyone is looking forward to his continued success!

By the way, a mascot exists in every team and performs fan services. 

“Tsubakuro” is the one of the Yakult Swallows. He is very popular and famous for his funny character and activity. He writes a blog. (He can’t write Kanji though..) He is a wicked. He often plays pranks on players and fans.

He renews contract every year like baseball players. According to his contract, he gets 22,000 yen this year. (Also he can drink Yakult as much as he wants!) ※Yakult is the lactic-acid drink which is made by the parent company.

 I guess some of you think that we "Swallow Sports" have relationship with “Yakult Swallows”...

But the Swallows has no relationship with us! :P

Pitcher Kenta Maeda of Hiroshima Toyo Carp  contracted with The Los Angeles Dodgers and agreed the other day!

Yomiuri Giants

Yomiuri Giants has the longest history among the current professional baseball teams in Japan. 

Their home field is the Tokyo Dome. (The seating capacity is about 45,000.)

They are a very strong team! They have won 22 national championship titles and 45 league titles since 1936.

They have kept a high rank and had both capability and popularity for many years.

  

Instead, many baseball fans (except the Giants fans) don’t like the Giants because they are rich and strong.

Especially, the Hanshin Tigers is known as the rival of the Giants. Their games are called “The Classic”.

It is like the New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox.

Let me introduce some of the famous players in the Giants.

  

Their spirit is "Always be the gentleman." The Giants players do not grow their mustache and dye their hair.

Shigeo Nagashima was one of the most famous players in the Giants.

His feature was ‘Powerful baseball’. There was an anecdote to think hard, how to toss out a helmet,

So, His playing style was excited in baseball fan. He was called ‘Mr.baseball’.

2013, He received People's Honor Award with Hideki Matsui who is like his disciple. 

It will say ‘The moment to be a real Mr.baseball’.

He also worked as a manager of the GIants

Hideki Matsui who was known as a player of the New York Yankees had been playing in the Giants before coming to the MLB!

You know his great career while in the New York Yankees.

He not only contributed to the winning of World Series in 2009 but also was selected as the World Series MVP.

He was also playing an active part in the Giants.

He is definitely one of the candidates of the future manager of the Giants.

Besides Hideki Matsui, other major league players such as Masumi Kuwata, and Koji Uehara used to play with the Giants.

In the meantime, this year, the Giants made the 5 year partnership agreement with UNDER ARMOR.

It has grown as one of the leading sports makers in the U.S. in about 10 years.
